“I was specifically looking for a fully online Spanish MA program, and Idaho State's exceeded my expectations. The program fit perfectly with my full-time work schedule while still offering the high-quality education and personalized support I needed. In spite of the online nature, I grew very close to the other students and the faculty, which is a testament to the sense of community that ISU's MA program creates and fosters. ISU's Spanish MA program offers a unique blend of rigorous scholarship and individualized attention. The support from professors has been phenomenal, allowing me to balance my studies with a full-time career." – Richard A.
“I chose the Spanish MA program at Idaho State University for its flexibility and strong academic community. "ISU's MA in Spanish program uniquely prepares students for an in-depth understanding of culture, research methods, and anthropological evolution through the arts, extending beyond traditional literary and comparative analyses. The program has allowed me to develop a richer comprehension of the intricate connections between systems such as overarching cultural themes that intertwine with the human condition, the sociopolitical landscape, and dominant political structures. Through the lens of Latin American and Iberian film and literature, this rigorous yet intellectually stimulating academic training has equipped me with an expansive toolkit to analyze how historical junctures and cultural mechanisms embedded in the arts in other societies inform and shape their modern-day state." - Mateo K.
"My experiences at ISU have far exceeded my expectations. In complete honesty, I chose this program because it was fully online and offered at the most competitive tuition price. Although I was excited to continue my education, I was extremely nervous to balance my career and my studies. When I began my first class, I expressed to my professor my fears about being a graduate student in my second language. I was genuinely unsure if I possessed the necessary skills, and to my surprise, my professor was able to truly support me and ease any anxieties. I believe this is my favorite (and the most unexpected) part about being an online student at ISU. Despite the fact that everything is virtual, I have been able to make real connections with professors and other graduate students; all of which has helped me achieve success here. Not only has my Spanish greatly improved, but I have been able to incorporate a lot of what I learned into my classroom. I am very grateful for my time at ISU and I am excited to make the trip from Boston to attend graduation." - Jessica M.
“ISU’s Spanish MA program offers a great mix of cultural diversity, with courses that cover politics, economics, and a lot of history through theater, books, music, and more. I picked it because it’s fully online, but what I’ve really enjoyed is how supportive and available the professors are whenever I have questions. As I’m getting ready to apply for a PhD, I feel like this program has given me a solid foundation and a fresh perspective on what advanced study in Spanish really means.” – Eli R.
